She's cynical, and while she's occasionally humorous, she's mostly just bleak. Even after everything she says "Fuck it we'll hunt the bad guys" instead of "Lets go get revenge." Her one break from that is killing Davis, and even that's arguably not revenge but stopping Valerian's revenge. Even she starts that way, with Cliff Narander, but after that her whole arc is "I don't want to remember anymore." And when she gets her memories back in Specters she still doesn't switch to going after the Dominion. Every person in Star Craft is all about "My revenge is worth killing everyone."Įxcept Nova. It drove Mengsk, it drove Raynor, it drove Sarah Kerrigan, it drove the Queen of Blades, it drove Kerrigan after she was purified, it drove most of the Protoss, it drove Amon.
Other than her, literally every major character but Zeratul has had one motivation: Revenge. I feel like Nova is fundamentally a "Take That" at the rest of Star Craft.
